Pointing device
The feature of a laptop that acts as a built-in mouse, allowing the user control of the pointer. A pointing device can come in two forms, a touchpad or a trackpoint. A touchpad is usually located at the bottom centre of the keyboard and allows movement of the pointer through touching the small rectangular space with the pads of the fingers. Movement of the fingerpads equates to movement of the computer on the screen. A trackpoint is located in the centre of the keyboard and allows pointer control by moving finger around the small, raised, dome-like buttom.
