logocentrizam
Derida koristi ovaj termin da označi "metafiziku prisustva" u zapadnoj kulturi - posebno njen fonocentrizam i njeno građenje na temelju mitski obeleženog transcendenta. Logocentrizam može takođe da se odnosi na tipično nesvesnu predrasudu prilikom tumačenja koja privileguje ligvističku komunikaciju naspram "ne-verbalnih" formi komunikacije i izraza i naspram neverbalizovanih osećanja; logocentrizam privileguje oči i uši naspram drugih čula kao što je dodir.
