International Finance Centre (IFC)

IFC is a landmark skyscraper in Hong Kong and was the island's tallest building from 2003 to 2010 when it was surpassed by International Commerce Centre. Designed by Rocco Design Architects, IFC is one of 18 buildings involved in the Hong Kong Tourism Commission's Victoria Harbor Lighting Plan. IFC consists of two towers with Tower 2 being the most prominent building due to its 1315 feet (401 meter) height. IFC is mixed use building offering office space, the Four Seasons Hotel and the IFC mall.

In 2003, Financial Times, HSBC, and Cathay Pacific put up an advertisement on the facade of IFC that stretched more than 50 stories, covering an area of 0.2 million square ft (19,000 m²) and a length of 754 feet (230 meters), making it the world's largest advertisement ever put on a skyscraper. The building was also featured in the Hollywood movie "Tomb Raider 2".

IFC was constructed and is owned by IFC Development, a consortium of Sun Hung Kai Properties, Henderson Land and Towngas. It is one of the few buildings in the world equipped with double-deck elevators. Because IFC was being built when the World Trade Center tragedy occurred, the tower's safety was reinforced repeatedly to make it one of the safest buildings in the world.
