Christian the Lion

Christian was a lion originally purchased form the department store Harrods in London by two Australians in 1969. Eventually he was reintroduced into Africa. One year after the reintroduction, the two owners returned to Africa with the hope of seeing Christian once again. The accompanying documentary showed the reunion between beast and men. On the film, the lion at first cautiously approaches and then quickly leaps playfully onto the two men, standing on his hind legs and wrapping his front legs around their shoulders, nuzzling their faces. The film became a huge viral video sensation.
